the tag

Every missionary wears a little rectangular tag over his or her heart.
My tag will say:
HERMANA FERNELIUS
.
La Iglesia De
JESU CHRISTO
De los Santos
De Los Ultimos Dias
This little black nametag will identify me as a disciple of Jesus Christ, a full-time servant of the Lord.
I believe, this little black tag has the power to speak for itself. When I wear it, I take His name upon me. I act in behalf of what the Savior, himself, would do and say if He were here. Isn't that so cool? But it is also a great responsibility.
First is my name, which represents my family during this service..."Fernelius"
Second, is the name of the church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The - indicates its unique position among religions of the world
Church of Jesus Christ - who is the author of this church
Of Latter-Day - meaning this is the same church that Jesus Christ established during His mortal existence, now restored to the earth once again
Saints - meaning that as members of the church, we strive to follow Jesus Christ and make our lives holy through Him
One of the apostles of the Lord explains it pretty dang clearly in this reference.
And lastly is the location of the tag, over my heart. Reminding me of my commitment to more fully give Him a place in my heart and mind.
So why does my blog have a funky name? Why do I do this? Why give 18 months to people I 'don't even know'??  ....Well, as you can see...the answer is all in the tag.
"...For ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on His name; therefore, ye are born of Him and have become His sons and daughters."
"...therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives." Mosiah 5:7,8
